Scholars Chamber of Commerce and Industry (hereafter referred to as the "Chamber", "Institution", “SCCI”, "We",
"Us", and "Our") owns and operates www.scholarschamberofcommerce.com and its appurtenances, courses and
programs both in the website and offline training centres including the SCCI Online University of Commerce Industry
and Entrepreneurship (SOUCIE).
The following terms and conditions govern the use of SCCI platforms, website, courses and all content, services
and products available at or through the platorm (hereafter collectively referred to as the "Site") and/or the physical
training centres, partnering institutions and offices (hereafter collectively referred to as the “Platform” or "Centre").
These Terms and conditions, privacy policy, and any other SCCI rules published on the Site are agreements (the
"Agreements") between you (the user) and SCCI. By subscribing to any SCCI Programs and Services both in the
Site and offline, you accept and agree to be legally bound by the Agreements, whether or not you are a registered
user. If you do not understand or do not wish to be bound by the terms of the Agreements, you should not
subscribe, apply or use.
1. Description: SCCI is a subscription and membership based platform which operates within the marketplace,
academia (institutions of learning) and online platforms (including but not limited to SCCI website, social media and
digital ecosystem). We offer training courses, advocacies, B2B networking and consulting services in the fields of
entrepreneurship, human resource development, leadership, productivity development, travels/tourism, international
trade, scholarships, skills and services export/import. We are passionate about bridging the gap between learning
and earning.
2. Enrolment and Subscriptions:
2.1. The Site pages will guide you through the steps you need to take to subscribe for a course, membership or
place an order for our services. The preferred means of payment is by bank transfer or deposit into SCCI bank
account. Any payment made expires after 12 months whether used or not. You can subscribe by using an existing
member’s link or by filling Our subscription form online or offline. However, you will not be admitted until payment is
made and confirmed. Registration can also be done at any of our offices. The training could be face to face in a
classroom (at Our offices, centres and partnering institutions) or in-house (at the office facility of your organization).
We also offer courses online (soft copies of course materials including videos are given to participants to study.
They are encouraged to ask questions through email as they go through the course). Participants may be given
course completion assessment at the end of a course (irrespective of the mode of training), to test their
understanding of course materials. Only participant(s) who pass the assessment test are issued Certificate(s) of
completion. The certificates may come from SCCI or Our partners (or both). Furthermore, We may issue letter of
attestation or recommendation together with course completion certificates to individuals and organizations on
request for a token fee. We may also issue letter of attestation to You (a participant) pending when course
completion certificate will be issued.
2.2. Installment: A participant(s) may be allowed to attend a course after paying an installment. The course
administrator reserves the right to determine how much installment should be paid and the payment plan. However,
only participants who have completed payments will be allowed to take the assessment test and receive the
certificates. The certificate(s) is one way to show that you attended and completed a training course with Us.
2.3. Corporate organizations can book for courses and services through email, at Our office and/or through
telephone. Invoice is sent to the official email of the organization after booking. Training is conducted in-house (at
the organization facility) or at Our facility only after We have received payment. For in-house training, We may not
charge any extra fees but the organization will be responsible for providing a suitable venue and refreshments.
2.4. Cancellation and refund. Only a cancellation made (in writing or email) at least seven days before the start of a
course will receive a refund minus thirty percent for administrative cost. Also, payments (including deposits,
balance, refund and the like) which are not utilized for training or claimed within six months will be forfeited.
Furthermore, online self-paced courses are not eligible for refund.
3. Training Verification:
3.1. In order to verify if someone attended and completed a course with Us or Our partners and holds an authentic
certificate(s) and/or letter of attestation, you may send a mail with scanned copy of document
to admin@scholarschamberofcommerce.com and You will get a reply from Us to authenticate the originality of
the certificate(s) or letter(s) of attestation, as the case may be.
4. General rules and commitment:
4.1. By signing up for a course with Us, you agree to: personally attend all classes, participate in all class activities
and assignments, personally read all course materials and view the course videos, take full responsibility for your
learning and understanding, ensure all work which you submit for assessment is your own, not take any action that
could bring us into disrepute or liability, ask questions for better understanding of subject matter, treat everyone
with courtesy and respect, not post or distribute assessment questions and answers used to assess performance of
participants.
5. Use of Content on the Site:
5.1. The content on the site is protected by copyright laws unless indicated as been in the public domain. Hence,
the rights to use the contents of the site are reserved and you agree to personally use only the content that relates
to the course or service you signed up for. We will not knowingly include or use any copyright material without
permission and we encourage the owners of such material to let us know so we can remove such.
6. Warranty and Disclaimers:
6.1. We provide our services using reasonable skill and care. You agree to tell us if we do not meet the quality level
described in this warranty and we will work with you to try to resolve the issue. Besides the warranty described in
section 6.1. We do not make any other commitments about our services. The Site is provided "as is" and "as
available" without warranty of any kind (express, implied or otherwise). Furthermore, we do not provide any implied
warranty of: merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
7. Limitations of Liabilities:
7.1. You agree that neither SCCI nor its partners will be liable to you for any loss or damages arising out of or
relating to this Agreements/Terms or your (or any third party's) use or inability to use our Platform, Programs,
Services and Website, whether your claim is based in contract or otherwise. You agree that Our total liability to you,
your delegates, employees or agents, in respect of all losses arising under or in connection with this
Agreements/Terms and Conditions, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or
otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed the price of the course or service out of which the loss or damage has
arisen.
8. Indemnification:
8.1. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless SCCI, and Our respective partners, employees, directors,
officers, participants, and agents from and against any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys’ fees,
arising out of your use of the SCCI Platform, Programs, Services and Website, including but not limited to your
violation of this Agreements/Terms and Conditions.
9. Miscellaneous:
9.1. This Agreements/Terms and Conditions sets out the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the
subject matter hereof and supersedes all previous arrangements, agreements and representations whether written,
oral or implied between Us and you relating to SCCI Platform, Programs, Services and Website including consulting
services as the case may be, and they may only be modified by a written amendment signed and sealed by an
authorized executive of SCCI, or by the posting by Us of a revised or modified version on this Site. You agree to the
revised or modified version of all the Terms and Conditions by accessing the Site after each modification. We
encourage you to visit this page periodically in order to be familiar with the most current version of the Terms and
Conditions.
9.2. Except to the extant applicable law, if any, provides otherwise, this Agreements/Terms and Conditions, any
access to or use of the Site will be governed by the laws of host country, excluding its conflict of law provisions, and
the proper venue for any disputes arising out of or relating to any of the same will be the state and federal courts
located in the host country. Except for claims for injunctive or equitable relief or claims regarding intellectual
property rights (which may be brought in any competent court without the posting of a bond), any dispute arising
under this Agreements/Terms shall be finally settled in accordance with the Comprehensive Arbitration Rules by
three arbitrators appointed in accordance with such Rules. The arbitration shall take place in the relevant city o the
host country (We reserve the right to choose otherwise), in English language and the arbitral decision may be
enforced in any court. The prevailing party in any action or proceeding to enforce this Agreements/Terms and
conditions shall be entitled to costs and attorneys’ fees.
9.3. You agree that SCCI, in it’s sole discretion, may terminate your membership use of SCCI Platform, Programs,
Services and Website including consulting services as the case may be, with or without notice to you. It is Our
policy to terminate in appropriate circumstances anyone who violates these Agreements/Terms and Conditions. We
reserve the right at any time in Our sole discretion to cancel, delay, reschedule or alter the format of any SCCI
Platform, Programs, Services and Website including consulting services as the case may be, or to cease providing
any part or all of the SCCI content or related services, and you agree that We will not have any liability to you for
such an action.
9.4. You agree that We can communicate with you through email and/or written communication and both will be
valid.
9.5. Failure by Us to enforce strict compliance with these Terms and Conditions by you shall not be considered to
be a waiver of any provisions of these Terms. No waiver by Us of any breach by you of these Terms shall be
considered as a waiver of any subsequent breach of the same or any other provision.
